On Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at the State Theater in Detroit, Michigan, the legendary Pro-Stock drag racing team of Ronnie Sox and Buddy Martin, joined the 160 racers already enshrined in the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America. Ronnie Sox and Buddy Martin combined driving artistry and mechanical genius to form one of the most famous teams in drag racing history headlining in stock and super stock match races throughout the 1960s. Sox, listed as #15 on the list of the National Hot Rod Association's 50 all time best drivers, piloted Martin prepared Pro Stock cars to three consecutive NHRA championships between 1970-1972, and exhibited unique domination in vehicles equipped with four speed transmissions. Kevin Miller gave the introduction for Sox & Martin and their achievements. Diane Sox accepted the award on behalf of her late husband. She thanked the Hall of Fame for giving her the honor of accepting the prestigious award on Ronnie's behalf, stating that of all the awards and inductions he has received, this award would have been Ronnie's proudest to accept. Then in an emotional and tearful speech said it tugged at her heart that Ronnie was not standing next to Buddy instead of her to accept the award for himself, but that she had to believe with all her heart that Ronnie was with them and smiling that great big beautiful smile he always had and he was enjoying every minute of his induction. She congratulated all the other inductees, thanked the Hall of Fame again and then turned the floor over to Buddy who also gave a moving speech and stated how much he missed Ronnie.
