Diane, I lived in Greensboro from 1940 to 1976 and Gate City Motor Co. was one of my hang outs. Remember well when Ronnie came to the dealership to get his first Barracuda. My dad was a Lutheran Pastor in town and had been introduced to Ronnie's dad during one of his visits to Burlington. Knowing that all us "Soxes" are related, when I introduced myself to Ronnie - I called him cousin. Was to see him race many times at Burlington Drag strip and like so many others was amazed at his talent. To this day, I very proudly mention to auto minded folks I meet that I am related to The Boss". God rest his soul.

Diane, it is an honor and privilege to have a personal letter from the "BOSS' Wife, thank you so very much. I am also a racer, just a small time pro braket racer, i run a 1973 dodge dart sport. Drag racing is a sport that i really love thanks to "Ronnie". I will keep racing as long as God gives me the health for it. I was thinking of giving it up last year but a few days ago i was on the web and looked up The Boss and i saw all the pictures and #@*%!s of all his cars and now im excited about racing again. This year im going to run the Ronnie Sox memory decal on my car, keep the rememberence going here. There are so many fans here in PA that love Ronnie. At the machine shop we are always talking about him and his cars and what a great driver he was and of course we have pictures of his cars too. anyway i have talked to much..
Thank you so much again Diane for your letter. God bless you and your family, best wishes, good luck and happiness for this new year.
I will always remember the "BOSS" and the Boss' wife too.... thank you.

Between Ronnie Sox And A good friend Akron Arlen Vanke,I wouldn't be racing today but these guy were a great influence. Arlen would tell me stories about how tough Ronnie was, Arlen said he could beat Ronnie 1 out 3 time in his career he also said he was the touchest guy he's ever faced! Its a shame we always loose the great ones,

From the time I was 8 years old, I grew up admiring Ronnie Sox. At that time, Ronnie Sox was the greatest name in drag racing and I had the pleasure of meeting him at Colonial Beach Dragway and also at Summerduck Dragway. I was impressed at how he took the time to talk to everyone who approached him in such a "down-to-earth" way. After meeting him, I feel that the man lived up to the legend. There'll only be one "BOSS".

Hi ,
As I kid growing up in the 60's and 70's I'd just like to say that the only cars on the drag strip that mattered to me were the Mopars with Sox and Martin on the side of them. I'd like to have been able to thank him for all he's done through outreaches but I never had the chance to meet him. So I'll thank you for helping him accomplish sooo much. You both need thanked for all that you have done. Judging by the web site I can tell the enormous following that he had really appreciated him also.

Hi Diane, First saw Ronnie at Cecil County Dragway with his white '64 Comet. My brother Markey and I are huge fans of Ronnie's. Greatest memory was sitting in the stands and seeing the tilt-bed truck coming over the hill with a freshly repainted Red, White, and Blue '64 Comet, knew it was Ronnie right away. Greatest match races were Ronnie against "Dyno Don" Nicholson, Malcolm "The D.C. Lip" Durham, Phil "Big Daddy Warbucks" Bonner, Dave Strickler's "Unreliable Chevy's and Dodge, The Ramchargers, Bud Faubel's Honker Dodge. Ronnie was "The King of the 4 Speed. Only saw him miss a gear one time at Cecil County Dragway. He was the "BEST" of the best. Broke our hearts when he switched over to Plymouth, but a Ronnie Sox fan is a Ronnie Sox fan, we got over it and enjoyed all of his sucesses with MOPAR. He is greatly missed by my brother's and I. Older Brother suffers from early stages of Alzheimers Desease but still vividly remembers Ronnie. His favorite was the Red, White, and Blue '64 Comet. Good pictures are hard to come by of it but I search everyday for a better one to frame for brother Markey. Ronnie is truly missed, but I take comfort in meeting with him again in Heaven. Our Heavenly Father now watches over "Mr 4 Speed". God Bless you Diane and the Gentlman who redesigned your website.
Sincerely,
Eddie Dyling

I have always been a Sox & Martin Fan since I was a young boy in the 60's and one of the most memorable things that happened that I can remember was the time my family and I were going to my grandmothers house up in Rockwood, Tn and we were almost there driving down I-40 between Knoxville and Rockwood and low and behold we were passing a transporter {of the day} and it was carrying one of the S&M car's although I couldn't tell you where they may have been heading! that was one of the coolest memories I have!! and although I was never able to go to a drag race I followed them in the pages of hot rod and other mags of the era and I sorely regret never getting to meet Ronnie!! I just recently met and talked to Herb McCandles at a recent Mopar show and that was also a pretty big thrill even at my age!!! I was also fortunate to have an older friend who lived next door to us when I was younger that took me under his wing and taught me all about the mopar's and I learned alot about Sox & Martin from him as well!! I know that I'll one day get to meet Ronnie when I go home and I owe the Corporation Blue blood that runs through my veins to the likes of S&M as well as all the other Mopar greats!! godspeed to you Ronnie and I'm sure you and Dick Landy are still match-racing and holding Plymouth and Dodge performance clinics up there even as we speak!!!! Thanks for everything "BOSS"

In Everlasting Memory of my Beloved Ronnie
It is still difficult for me to believe that three years ago today you left to be with our Heavenly Father. If my love for you could have kept you here, you would still be here today, and although God has you in his care now, I will always have you and our wonderful memories together in my heart. I think of you every day and miss you terribly. I loved you in life and I love you in death. You will NEVER be forgotten. All my love, Diane
